Students will use the geographic inquiry process to formulate questions and gather research to assess the liveability and sustainability of communities around them. Students will identify community members’ unmet needs, and they will propose solutions for building better communities.

Students will discover and investigate problems that have occurred and continue to occur on a global scale. Through reading a variety of postcolonial literature, researching current human rights issues, and adopting an entrepreneurial mindset when going through the design thinking process, students will develop and pitch a prototype for a product, service or app that will make a significant impact on a chosen community

In this course, students will address the challenge of creating a more sustainable and equitable world. They will explore issues involving a wide range of topics, including economic disparities, threats to the environment, globalization, human rights, and quality of life.
